About

We are a group of men and women, from all walks of life, who freely give their time to help local charities, good causes and deserving individuals. We raise tens of thousands of pounds every year and help many people in the community, and have fun doing it!

We are a registered charity and part of Lions International, one of the world’s largest service organisations. While we focus on serving the local community, we also contribute to life-saving national and international projects.

Formed in 1977, the Club meets at the County Hotel in Hexham. Meetings commence at 7.00pm on the second and fourth Mondays in the month (except for bank holidays). We also organise regular social activities for our members such as days out and meals.

Tynedale Lions Club is part of the global organisation Lions Clubs International. Our 1.4 million members – who perform community service in 210 countries and geographic areas – are different in many ways, but share a core belief: community is what we make it. Tynedale Lions are part of a network of clubs in the North East and East of England(District 105N). We support each other in our activities and promote the creation of new clubs. We have two daughter clubs at Mid Tyne based in Ryton, Tyne and Wear and at Allendale, Northumberland.
